  4. This program was created to be able to watch partially downloaded DivX (AVI) movies.
  5. It can rebuild or strip the index part of the movie, which is at the end of the file.
  6. There are also a basic error detection, which can detect serious errors in the audio/video
  7. stream.

  10. 2. Usage

  14. For your maximum safety, you should use this program on a backup copy first to avoid
  15. problems from possible bugs and from continuing the download later without stripping the
  16. index.

  18. If you want to continue the download later, don't forget to strip the index!

  22. If you have a partially downloaded movie and you want to look in it, then open the file
  23. with DivFix and use the "Rebuild Index" function. Now you can look the movie. If you want
  24. to continue the download, open the file again with DivFix, use the "Strip Index" function,
  25. finish the download and then use the "Rebuild Index" again to correct the file-size in the
  26. AVI header (the only data which is changed by DivFix from the original movie).

  28. You can use DivFix with command-line parameters too (and you can use wildcards). There is
  29. a few example:

  31. DivFix C:\*.avi       - This will rebuild the index for all files with .avi extension in
  32.                         the C:\ directory
  33. DivFix -r C:\*.avi    - This will strip the index for all files with .avi extension in
  34.                         the C:\ directory

  36. 3. Known bugs:
  37.  
  38.      There should be still some I/O-error (but hey, this is the first and only
  39.      program i made with Borland Delphi... :). If you can send me a video that
  40.      produce such error, i will try to fix it.
  41.      But if you send meg bug-report, PLEASE write down the version number too... :)

  44. 4. Future plans:

  46.      Maybe there will be versions for other platforms (MacOS, Linux).
  47.      And maybe there will be an "official home page" too... :) (Currently i put
  48.      the new versions to the www.divx-digest.com server)
